The first inaugural meeting hold in 1985.

Initially, the club was only open on race days and select evenings, with volunteers handling the kitchen and bar. Over time, the club hired a manager and expanded its hours

First dedicated clubhouse opening, following years of fundraising. The Clubhouse has been opened by Sir James Hardy.

PDYC has been established by a group of sailing enthusiasts and friends.
